Everton‘s Richarlison can succeed as a forward in Brazil’s national team, South American football expert Tim Vickery has claimed.
Richarlison has enjoyed a fantastic start to his Everton career since joining from Watford this summer, having scored three times in his first two outings. This form earned him a first call-up to the national side from head coach Tite and the striker played the last 15 minutes of a friendly with USA on Friday.“Being selected for the national team speaks volumes for how well Richarlison has started the season for Everton,” Vickery told evertonfc.com. “Also, I believe Brazil think he could be an important player for them at centre-forward.“They picked, more or less, the World Cup starting XI against the USA on Friday but Richarlison may well start against El Salvador and probably through the middle. Wide left is his natural position but I think it is a big chance for him. He has shown he can get into the penalty area and score goals.

“He replaced a target man in the squad – Pedro who plays for Fluminense – so it showed then that Brazil were thinking of him using him through the middle.”
